The Province of Monza and Brianza has entrusted Teknoprogetti s.r.l. with thedesign work of securing<\/strong> a road viaduct. Specifically, it is the viaduct on the SP13 Monza Melzo road (in the section under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Agrate) that was subject to accidental collision<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last November, in fact, a passing heavy vehicle on Via Archimede caused serious damage to the lower part of the overpass.<\/p>\n

As a result, the province ordered the activities to take place as a matter of urgency in order to minimize the inconvenience and reopen the highly trafficked stretch to free movement.<\/p>\n

The construction site in Agrate<\/h2>\n

The estimated duration of the construction site<\/strong>, to allow the work to be carried out, is about 40 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the entire period, in order to ensure safety, Archimedes Street, in the section adjacent to the overpass, is closed to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.<\/p>\n

Teknoprogetti’s intervention.<\/h2>\n

Teknoprogetti s.r.l., a company specializing in structural diagnostics and design, was entrusted with the design and construction management services for the safety and structural rehabilitation of the overpass.<\/p>\n

The planned works include localized reinforcement with carbon fibers and the construction of 4 new steel brackets for the most damaged beams.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, the construction site is proceeding expeditiously, and traffic restrictions on SP13 via alternating one-way have been reduced to 4 days against the originally planned 10 days.<\/p>\n

Continuation and Outcome of Work<\/h3>\n

Teknoprogetti carried out the technical activities of securing the SP13 Monza-Melzo road viaduct<\/strong> (in the section under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Agrate Brianza).<\/p>\n

On the night of March 6-7, we supervised the load tests, which involved 12 trucks and were successful.<\/p>\n

With the latest tests, we ascertained the full functionality of the bridge and defined the maximum loads.<\/p>\n

The situation has been back to normal since Saturday, March 7. Below are some photographs of the load tests.<\/p>\n
